A house buyer's report doesn't include the state of your proprty's electrics
If you are moving house do you think an electrical check is included in your house buyer’s survey? Do you think it’s important?

Across the country millions of properties are bought each year. According to government figures there were just over 11,000 residential property sales in Northamptonshire in the year ending March 2022.

However, research carried out by Electrical Safety First found that only about a third of house buyers have their property’s electrics checked before they buy.
A training day in our customer's pub to review the updated Wiring Regulations.
The latest amendment to the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022) came in to effect on 28 September, replacing the previous version which has now been withdrawn.

The MSE team has been looking at the implications of the amendments for some time and our team of charge hands recently took some time out to go over them in detail.
Groundworks and lead to electical accidents
We recently took a trip into Central London to isolate power ready for soil test drilling works.

It’s important to do this when you are carrying out work that involves digging or disturbing the ground. If you come across buried cables there’s a risk that someone could be injured or die due to electric shock, or electrical arcs that could lead to explosions and burns, even if protective clothing is worn.
There are often hidden electrical risks on building sites
People working in construction have been involved in the highest number of cable damage incidents in London, the South East and East of England during the past year.

Prioritising electrical safety in the sector could significantly reduce the risks of injury and save the time and cost of delays when electrical cabling and equipment is damaged.

In 2021 builders were involved in 23% of incidents where members of the public came into contact with electricity cables, which is more than any other trade.
